Zena West, in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, is adjacent to the Zena East and Zena Middle parcels the company purchased in March. Collectively, the three sites are known as Zena Crown, and include 80 total planted acres. Gran Moraine, a hillside vineyard location in the Yamhill-Carlton district, includes 200 planted acres.
Fitting with Jackson Family Wines’ long-term commitment to sustainability, each of these sites are LIVE (Low Impact Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon Safe Certified. Environmentally-friendly practices are important to the company, which was recently recognized as the 2013 Green Company of the Year by the drinks business, Europe’s leading beverage trade publication. All of Jackson Family Wines’ California vineyards are certified under the CCSW (Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing) program.
