E&J Gallo Spokeswoman Loree Stroup confirmed that Gallo is purchasing Snow's
Lake Vineyard in Lake County, saying the deed is set to close today. Snows Lake
lies within the Red Hills AVA in Lake County and includes 2300 acres, of which
more than 800 are planted to such varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and
Zinfandel. Grapes from the vineyard have gone into wines made by Stag’s Leap
Wine Cellars, Cakebread Cellars, Rosenblum Cellars, La Famiglia, Cartlidge &
Browne, Dynamite Vineyards.
