Italie : Russian Standard porte sa participation dans Gancia SpA à 94,1%

Spirits and sparkling wine supplier Russian Standard has increased its stake in Italian sparkling wine company Gancia SpA to 94.1%. Russian Standard previously acquired a 70% stake in Gancia, which was founded in 1850 by Carlo Gancier the creator of the original Italian sparkling wine, in 2011.

Russian Standard founder and chairman Roustam Tariko stated: “We are pleased to continue to invest in Gancia’s legendary history and dynamic future as one of Italy’s most authentic brands. 

“By combining Gancia’s 150 years of expertise and tradition with the infrastructure and financial resources of Russian Standard, we have created synergies which allow Gancia to develop to its full potential in key markets around the world.”

Last month Gancia also announced a partnership with The Wine Group, the third-largest wine company in the world, to distribute Gancia’s Prosecco, Moscato D’Asti, Asti and Moscato Rosé in the United States. In Russia, Gancia is distributed by Roust Inc., the alcohol distribution arm of Russian Standard. Gancia is exported to more than 60 countries.
